Ahmed Shah Masood was born in 1953 in Jangalak district of Penjesher "Afghanistan". He played a vital role in the Modern history of Afghanistan. To his admirers, he is known as "The Lion of Penjesher", this title was given to him after his success in the war as a commander against the Soviet occupation. His fight against the Soviet's Occupation was so much familiar that The Wall Street journal labeled the Commander as "Afghan who won the cold war'. When the communist were defeated, Masood's troops were the first who enter in Kabul first time and helped the Mujaheddin in establishing the Government. During the Governance of Burhanuddin Rabbani, Masood served as a Defense Minister and was much busy in different wars against other opposition's. In 2001, after the removal of Taliban from Afghanistan by the UNIFSA and US Forces, the Afghan Government under the presidency of Hamid Karzai, Masood was given the title of "Hero of the Afghan, Nation".On September 9,2001 Masood was Shaheed in the a suicide attack and after His death, the suicide attacks become very common in Afghanistan.
