MAKRO (Cash and Carry)




Makro is a Dutch chain of warehouse Clubs. It is also known as Cash and Carries. The first Makro was opened in 1968 in Amsterdam. In the following few years Makro extended its business to Netherlands and in the several Countries of Europe. In 1970s to 1980s Makro introduced its business to America and to Asia. But due to some economic and security reasons Makro closed its Mostly Branches from the North America. However, After a short duration The shops of Makro were re-opened for the business men and for those persons who have the Membership of Makro but not for the general Public.
In 1998, the European Makro Stores were acquired by Metro, a German retailer and Wholesale dealer.
In 2009 the Third Largest Makro was established in UK which is ranked in Cash and Carry Stores of the World.
European stores can be found in the Netherlands, Belgium, Poland, Czech Republic, Greece, Portugal, Spain, Italy and the United Kingdom.However the Stores have stretched as far as Pakistan, Philippines, and eastern Asia, South Africa, Colombia, Venezuela, Argentina, and Brazil.






In Pakistan, Makro is Makro Habib Metropolitan, Owned by the Habib family. There are Two Makro Branches in Pakistan, i.e. In Lahore and Karachi. The Makro stores are remain open in all public holidays just the first day of any event........
It is very good business and also a very standard Cash and Carry store, from where people can buy anything that they need according to their own desire and capacity.
